Solar Market Parity EU

5 June 2018 /// Milan

SCROLL DOWN

Solar Market Parity EU

5 June 2018 /// Milan

Connecting the right players on the verge of a solar (r)evolution

In the coming years, solar will become cost-competitive with conventional technologies and reach the mythical market parity. This will open the doors for a solar (r)evolution. What will be the new business models?

In Europe, several pioneering markets - that had long ago “gone dry” in the age of incentive-driven and government-stimulated solar development - are experiencing a phase of rejuvenation. Large-scale solar projects, beyond the normal scope of size or set-up, are popping up in markets like Italy, Spain and Portugal. They are being financed and developed without tariffs or subsidies, selling their power at competitive prices on the (corporate) PPA and/or electricity spot market. At this new conference, we will bring together developers, financiers, traders and utilities to discuss the future of large-scale solar development in Europe, beyond incentive-driven horizons.

Topics: merchant solar, PPAs: corporate and hybrid, wholesale power prices projections, additional revenue streams, market design, large-scale storage and more!

UPCOMING Webinar /// Market & Grid Parity in Italy

25 May 2018 /// 12:00 - 13:00 CET

Italy saw around 400MW of subsidy-free new solar PV plant installation in both 2016 and 2017. Even when leaving out the eventual auctions & tenders, there are already bountiful  opportunities for commercial and utility scale solar PV plant development in Italy.

  • Market & grid parity in Italy today

  • How to develop subsidy-free solar PV plants

  • What's new from the legislation point of view

PAST Webinar /// Solar Market Parity in Europe: Challenges & Opportunities

RECORDINGS ARE AVAILABLE

Solar Market Parity is on the horizon for several European markets such as Italy, Spain, Portugal and others. In theory, the case for going solar is simple: if solar can survive without subsidies, then it is ready for large-scale adoption. However, theory never fits into practice.

  • What is Solar Market Parity and what is the current state

  • Challenges confronted in a subsidy-free world

  • How do opportunities look like? Merchant vs. PPAs.

  • Case study from Italy

With great parity comes great responsibility.
